Asteroid Chaser

A submission for the JamGoJam game jam. All assets, scripts, sounds were made during the time of the jam with the exception of the engine Unity and the font used.

Controls:

Hold Z to charge laser. Release Z to fire. The laser must be roughly half as wide as the asteroid to destroy it.

Use the arrow keys to move left and right.

Criteria:

Criteria #1: Retro - I made the game with a pixel aesthetic and retro sounds generated with chip emulators or bit-crushing other sounds. I did also however not fully conform to the pixel restrictions as I used rotations and scaling of objects to add some sense of variety.

Criteria #2: Laser Beam - The player fires a laser to destroy asteroids

Criteria #3: Dash - The player's movement is limited to 3 lanes, and the player dashes from lane to lane.

Criteria #4: Arpeggio - The soundtrack includes arpeggios for the majority of it. It does break out of using arpeggios for variety however.
